The Soup is the E! Entertainment Television weekly sequence; it is a refurbished version of Talk Soup that targets recaps [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of various pop culture and tv program moments of the few days. The show is published by comedian Joel McHale, who provides sarcastic and biting [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] commentary about the various clips.

The show features this host, Joel McHale, on a greenscreened set that has a screen to his suitable. The show is broken up into various segments that focus [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on themes such as reality shows or shows on Age!. McHale introduces each attach, which is then played. He then comments about the clip before [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] moving on to the next one. There is a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] live audience for the show, composed of a small group of E! employees, their family and close friends, along with the normal production personnel. The audience is heavily involved in the show, laughing and cheering along with the clips.

Although the show is usually scripted, a large portion with the show is ad-libbed.

On April 22, 2008, a blog was started to the Soup [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] on E! 's website.

The [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] Soup has a cast [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] of recurring people. They include Mankini (men wearing a bikini leading and pants played through Dominic DeLeo, who is also any writer and producer for the show), a dancing maxipad, two nerds who gown as Star Wars figures, an intern named Shiny whom McHale shoots which has a gun (often while using shooting sound effect purposefully played away from sync, or even played having [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] other objects or along with just fingers), Jewbacca (Chewbacca's lawyer), [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] and "Spaghetti Cat", a cat eating spaghetti on the Morning Show with Robert and Juliet. Additionally, Tom McNamara, The Soup's stage director and former stage administrator on Talk Soup, and Kelly Levy (n?e Andrews), the show's former announcer plus a producer, have made appearances around the show, with Kelly portraying Courtney Stodden. Executive producer Edward Boyd's chihuahua Lou is [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] needed regularly in segment openings and elsewhere in the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] show. He also appeared with Joel on the show's intro, which showed them watching some other TV show each few days, until the intro [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] was changed in early 2010. The current intro juxtaposes simple clips introduced by announcer Anndi McAfee and a "reaction" by another clip, wildly out of wording.

In addition to normal episodes, special "Best of... " episodes of The Soup are actually shown under the header "The Soup Presents". Episodes of this nature are already produced on topics [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] like models and modeling displays, fights on television, and talk shows, two "Chicks, Man/Ladies, Ladies, Ladies" specials focusing in reality TV females, a show about really like and marriage called "Love along with Burning Sensations", and most recently, a show dedicated to television programs that contain had recurring appearances about the Soup (the "shows [they] only cannot quit"). During the holiday seasons, two-part episodes showcasing the best clips of the season are aired (Clipdowns).
