Post subject: hollister france Making Your Home Unique
There is of course a big difference with what is achievable when you first build a house and what can sensibly be done as an improvement. For instance, we included a hard-wired dual LAN in the build, which would be very difficult to achieve without a fairly major upheaval post-build. However, thinking laterally, nowadays you could always consider a wireless LAN, which would give you almost the same hollister france result without the drilling, channelling and re-plastering. We also incorporated a Silent Floor design in the build, which meant we had a completely squeak-free first floor. What a luxury, but hardly everyones idea of a necessity!
The ideas I am going to suggest assume a complete re-build is not on the cards, but a bit of creativity and personal barbour deutschland interpretation would be highly useful in any case.
Firstly, what are you trying to achieve? Are you barbour pas cher soldes looking to personalise one room of your house, or aiming for a common louboutin theme throughout? Remember, to abuse a well-known metaphor, the larger the omelette, the more eggs one has to break! Do you have a spare room you can use during the works, and can you close the door on the abercrombie pas cher room being reworked? If so, you may be in a position whereby you can take your time and cause a greater upheaval than if you have to live in a mess for a number of weeks or months.
If I did have a must-have for my own build, it was that lighting was to form a very important part of the self-build project. I wanted variable lighting that could be set according to the use of the area, and to this end I performed weeks of research on the subject, and employed an old school mate of mine (a corporate architect) who had completed several architectural designs incorporating specialist lighting themes. The result of this research was that all living areas incorporated at least three different forms of lighting. Included were: wall lights (both up-lights and down-lights), ceiling down-lights and spots, under-cupboard lighting, and a separate lighting circuit for floor and table lamps, operated by wall switches. Nowadays, with the introduction of LED lighting and fibre-optic lighting, a much greater range of lighting effects can be produced. The reason for dwelling awhile on lighting, is that creative lighting can alter how we perceive everything in our homes, and careful programming (or manual adjustment) of the lighting can give just the right amount of depth to a reproduction oil painting, or create the right mood for the evening dinner, or even help prevent eye strain when watching your waterproof TV from the comfort of a warm spa bath. The right lighting is key to providing the desired mood for any living space, whether indoors or outdoors.
Once you have the right lighting, whether provided by programmable light switches or naturally via glass-block walls, how can you personalise your space further? Colour schemes also help provide the hollister desired mood for a living space. Do you want contemporary, clean lines, or is traditional more for you? Deep, rich colours, when used sparingly, can complement a modern style beautifully, or can be used in a different way to create moncler outlet a more homely feel. We barbour france paris decided that we wanted a contemporary kitchen/family room, so incorporated stainless steel, glass and mirror finishes, but tempered it slightly with deep, warm granite and mid blues, jordan pas cher in order to make the overall effect less sterile. The overall effect, in conjunction with the mood lighting, was called stunning by friends and family alike.
Now both the colour schemes and lighting are sorted, what is next? Well, our approach was less is better. In effect, what that translated to, was to have virtually all of the walls a neutral colour (we used white), and splashes of colour were added where we thought necessary. We had a framed landscape triptych above jimmy choo chaussures the staircase, a large cloth Turner reproduction mural above the galleried landing, and splashes of deep, rich colour (picked out of abercrombie course by incidental lighting!) wherever we deemed necessary for the overall effect. Oil paintings for the lounge which, when lit up by a flickering log fire, looked amazing, and more subtle (contemporary) prints in the brighter rooms.
Lastly we looked to make our lives a little easier (and more fun) by automating what we could. The lighting (both indoor and outdoor) was timed, electric curtain pullers and window openers were added and last, but by no means least, we installed sound (and sometimes vision) everywhere we could. The TV in the family room was 5,1 Dolby Surround-Sound (now old-hat), and we had sound in the bathroom, en-suites and outside with waterproof speakers, and elsewhere the sound was fed from a centralised AV server.
Altogether, lots of fun, the design and installation much enjoyed by both my wife and myself, and benefits reaped by both family and friends during visits and parties!
I hope this article has given you some ideas, or at least got you thinking, about what you can do to make your own home unique. Homes are like their owners: they have personalities too, and by imparting a little of your own on what is most likely your biggest investment, you too can create an extension of your own personality through careful design, preparation and implementation louboutin of your ideas and dreams. Best of luck!
